Flying with Profile

The aviation industry is one of the most innovative and the one with the greatest security requirements worldwide. Special profiles made of highly complex alloys play a crucial role in the construction of a wide variety of components. Whether in the aircraft engine, in the loading hatch or in the cargo area: voestalpine BÖHLER Profil products reliably work for the most well-known companies in the aviation industry worldwide.

Engine components out of nickel-based alloys and other special materials

The mechanical stress on engines is enormous. Only the best materials such as nickel-based alloys and other special materials are used without compromise.

Special profiles for the production of flash-butt-welded and machined static turbine rings as well as special profiles for the production of static engine blades are produced.

Our special profiles for the production of engine components are installed and used in the following aircraft or helicopter types:

  • GE90 (Boeing 777)
  • TP400 (Airbus A400M)
  • GP7200 (Airbus A380)
  • Leap 1A (Airbus A320neo)
  • CFM56-7 (Boeing 737)
  • PW 1100G (Airbus A319 / A320 / A321neo)
  • Adour (BAE Hawk / SEPECAT Jaguar / Mitsubishi F-1 / Mitsubishi F-2)
  • Makila (Eurocopter Super Puma / Eurocopter Cougar)

Example applications:

  • Special profiles for the production of flash-butt-welded and machined stationary turbine rings
  • Special profiles for the production of stator guide vanes

Structural components out of special materials

Meeting extreme demands combined with low weight is a particularly delicate challenge that voestalpine BÖHLER Profil is glad to take up. The key lies in geometries and alloys especially developed for aviation, such as e.g. titanium steel and other special materials. This creates special profiles with unique properties for the production of seat rails, which are used to fasten containers in cargo aircraft, special profiles for the production of guide rails for landing flaps and sealing profiles for loading hatches.

Our special profiles for structural components are used in the following aircraft types, among others:

  • Airbus A320 & A321
  • Airbus A300-600F
  • Airbus A330-200F

Example applications:

  • Special profiles for the production of seat rails, which are used in cargo aircraft to secure containers (Airbus Part No. A537-74604-200-00)
  • Special profiles for the production of guide rails for landing flaps
  • Seal profiles for loading hatches
